Spectacular Sixth Grade Book Club is a book discussion group for 6th graders. If you love reading books and discussing them with a group, this is the place for you! Some months we'll also have an activity to go along with the discussion. We'll meet on the second Wednesday of the month. This month, we are reading Miscalculations of Lightning Girl. Please bring your Alameda County Library Card with you to the meeting. Library staff may take photos, videos, or audio recordings at our events. Please tell us if you do not wish to be photographed, video-recorded, or audio-recorded. We will always respect your requests. An ASL (American Sign Language) interpreter or closed captioning can be provided for this program if requested at least seven (7) business days in advance. For assistance, please contact your library or accessibility@aclibrary.org.
The map is loaded from Google Maps, which may set Google cookies. Choose “Show map” to load it — we’ll remember your choice for other events.
Fun for the whole family! Family Storytime is a fun combination of storybooks, flannel boards, and songs to strengthen early literacy skills. Most appropriate for ages 3-5, but all ages are welcome. No registration necessary.
In this program, students in grades 1 to 5 grade are given the opportunity to read to a Therapy Dog for 15 minutes. Reading with dogs is a great way for children to practice their reading skills in a quiet, comfortable, and non-judgmental environment. Therapy Dogs are great listeners! Call 925-973-3…
