The library supplies tutoring materials and meeting space at no cost to participants. Whether you have a little or a lot of time to give, volunteer opportunities are flexible enough to suit most schedules. Volunteer Roles: serve as one-on-one or small group tutor in person or virtually lead or help with weekly English Conversation Practice Groups host Book Clubs for English Learnersassist learners prepare for standardized tests: US citizenship, HiSET, or GED We welcome native English speakers and multi-lingual volunteers aged 18+.Required for all Volunteers: Fluency in American English Patience Ability to work with people from various backgrounds Familiarity with American cultureAged 18 or over Helpful skills:Working knowledge of common technology: internet-based resources, apps, video conferencing software. Prior teaching or tutoring experience is useful but not required. Time Commitment:Tutors meet with students once weekly for 90 minutes plus prep time.
