September 9, 16, 23, 30 | Wednesdays at 9:30AM-10:15AM
Do you have a child 18-36 months old? Are you looking for children’s activities in the East Bay area? Garden Buds is a program where your child will meet the same friends each week and practice social skills in an outdoor setting while developing an interest in nature with hands-on activities. The classes will use sustainable and natural materials for the craft activities. The program will provide early education in basic plant knowledge, hands-on plant-based activities and seasonal experiences exclusive to the Ruth Bancroft Garden.
September’s Garden Buds series is all about discovering plants—their different parts and what they need to grow and thrive. Each week’s activities are inspired by the story of the day, bringing the books to life through hands-on exploration. Little gardeners will enjoy listening to a story, taking a nature walk through the Garden, and creating a craft to take home. One week, they’ll even pot their own succulent to bring home and care for, giving them a chance to nurture a living plant long after the class ends.
The price is per child per event series- the September Series has 4 classes. The non-member price includes admission to the Garden for 1 caregiver on class dates.
One caregiver can accompany per child. If siblings, one caregiver can attend with two children.
