Paws to Read is a literacy support program where children read aloud to therapy dogs, partnering with the certified Canine Comfort Pet-Assisted Therapy teams from Valley Humane Society in a calm and supportive setting. Reading to therapy dogs helps build confidence, improve reading skills, and create a positive, judgment-free experience that encourages children to enjoy reading. This program is intended for children in 1st-5th grade. Pre-registration is required at the information desk or by calling 925.973.2850.
