The intensity and expression of Samuel Barber leads us into Óscar Navarro’s second clarinet concerto, which is truly cinematic in its scope and jazzy in its sensibilities. Pioneering American composer Amy Beach transports us through musical imagery and Scottish folk song to her Gaelic roots in Scotland. A dramatic finish to a beautiful season of music.
