Presented by The Ballet School Performing Arts Studio
The SPAC Directing Showcase features the work of students in Scott Denison's award-winning Directing Class. Over the course of the program, each director has developed and staged a six-minute scene, making intentional choices in blocking, pacing, and storytelling while incorporating lights, sound, and costume elements. During the performance, directors will be calling their shows live from the audience, gaining hands-on experience in real-time production and leadership. In the spirit of collaboration, the directors have also stepped into the role of actor for their fellow directors, appearing in two scenes each. This unique process deepens their understanding of both sides of the rehearsal room and highlights the trust, communication, and ensemble work that are at the heart of strong directing.
